KARPATHOS

Karpathos is, after Rhodes, the second largest island in the Dodecanese and located between Crete and Rhodes in the Karpathian Sea, which took its name from the island in antiquity.







The location of the island is important, since it is essential the natural bridge which unites Crete with Asia Minor and the elongated Body dominates the south gates of the Aegean.
In terms of geomorphology, Karpathos, along with the island of Sharia is geopolitically, are among the most gifted Greek islands. Calcareous rock beds of the heart and determine its morphological character.

   

   


In some areas developed over the limestone layers of flysch and younger layers of plaster, travertine, cobble-latytopagon and modern deposits.

Arkasa is a traditional and quiet village, overlooks the village named by the ancient town "Arkesia". In Arkasa you can find some beautiful beaches like St. Nicholas, traditional taverns, bars and village shops.
